On Exhibit: Woodridge Public Library, Woodridge, IL for the month of July 2025
Exhibit Statement: “Art of Storytelling” is a self-curated solo exhibition including twenty-seven (27) of my hand-cut paper collages. This exhibit features two different themed bodies of work. “Time And Time Again” features my time-themed body of work which has also been turned into a book of the same title. “Ever After” features my artistic responses to fairy tales paired with my short summaries and reflective writings. Each of these past exhibits have been reprised so that they can be re-told, once again, together through the “Art of Storytelling.”
You’re invited to read the exhibit statements for each. As both an artist and writer, I believe in the power of image and word as forms of self-expression. When we use our hands to artfully shape our lived experience, and our words to actively name them, we can rewrite and share our own stories.
Art Process: All of my paper collages are cut by hand using different size scissors. My image sources are from various print materials. I approach my work with an eye for detail and a mind for design. For me, precision is a form of play. Each collage in this exhibit is the original art framed behind glass.
