On Exhibit: st. charles Public library - november & December 2026
“In all chaos there is a cosmos, in all disorder a secret order.” -Carl Jung
I’m excited to share that I have a new solo exhibition, Hello Human, over at the St. Charles Public Library! This exhibit will be up during the months of November and December. You can check it out during open public library hours. Keep reading for my exhibit statement and art process to learn more about the body of work.
Exhibit Statement: Hello Human is a self-curated collection of twenty-five (25) artworks. This exhibit includes ten (10) of my hand-cut paper collages and fifteen (15) of my hard-edge acrylic paintings. This still-evolving body of work psychologically and visually explores our often complicated relationship with technology as humans. The artwork is inspired by electronic music, the 1960’s space age era fascination and the rapid rise of technological advancement in current times. While my painting and collage work appear digital, it’s all done by human hands. The crux of this exhibit plays into this very contradiction. With one foot in the past and one stepping into the future, I choose to opt in to working analog in the present and probe what it means to create as an artist beyond the screen.
Art Process: All of my paper collages are cut by hand using different size scissors. My images are sourced from modern print materials and those of yesteryear. Each collage in this exhibit is the original art framed behind glass. My hard-edge paintings are a balance of intention and instinct. My compositions evolve in real-time, layer-by-layer, on the canvas as I build them. I approach my work with a mind and eye for design, detail, and discernment. Precision is a form of play.
