On Exhibit: Wheaton Public library - September 2026

I’m excited to share that I have a new solo exhibition, Outside Looking In, over at the Wheaton Public Library! This exhibit will be up during the month of September and is available for viewing during open public library hours. Exhibit Statement: Outside Looking In is a self-curated collection of eighteen (18) artworks inspired by Edward Hopper’s paintings. This exhibit includes twelve (12) of my hand-cut paper collages (the backdrop for each collage is one of Hopper’s paintings) and six (6) of my hard-edge paintings. As an artist, I am drawn to the moodiness and grittiness of Edward Hopper’s work, like a moth to a flame. Hopper’s work, seductively ambiguous, sets the mood to expose the complicated relationship between intimacy and isolation. In my upcoming book of the same title, each artwork will be accompanied by its own psychological vignette. These short, atmospheric noir-infused prose pieces are written in a form of cinematic chiaroscuro. This evocative endeavor is meant to both reveal, and conceal, the interior tension of a character.

Art Process: All of my paper collages are cut by hand using different size scissors. My image sources are from various print materials. Each collage in this exhibit is the original art framed behind glass. My hard-edge paintings are a balance of intention and instinct. My compositions evolve in real-time, layer-by-layer, on the canvas as I build them. Each spatial placement is a call and then becomes a response. I approach my work with a mind for design and an eye for detail. Precision is a form of play.

New Book! I’m excited to announce that my second book Outside Looking In is coming soon! This book, created in conjunction with my exhibit of the same title, features my own artwork inspired by American artist Edward Hopper’s urban and moody-feeling paintings. As an art appreciator, you may recognize Hopper’s famous Nighthawks painting displayed at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Outside Looking In is fragrant with deep intoxicating notes of film noir, femme fatales, jazz noir (of which I often listened to as I wrote), fashion, beauty, and architecture. These connections become, quite literally, a sight for sore eyes in my new book. This body of work is a tantalizing trifecta of my hand-cut paper collages, hard-edge abstract paintings, and ekphrastic prose writings. All of which are “in conversation” with each other. Each and every detail is a manifestation of my instinct and intent.
